Cruciform Hope

Faith and mental health, held in the same hand.

I founded Cruciform Hope Ministries, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, in 2022. It exists because faith and mental health belong together more than our churches and our clinics usually let them.

The idea

This is not a wellness platform, and it is not here to fix your faith or your mental health. It is honest thinking about what it means to follow the crucified and risen Jesus in a body that sometimes does not cooperate, with a mind that sometimes works against you, in a church that does not always know what to do with either.

The name is the thesis. Hope, in the Christian account, is cruciform. It has the shape of the cross. It does not skip the grave. There are no resurrections without graves.

The writing

Regular essays on theology, pastoral care, mental health, and the life of the church, for pastors, chaplains, counselors, and anyone who cares for people who are struggling. Rooted in serious theology, committed to clinical honesty, written in plain language.

I speak on this at churches, schools, camps, and retreats.
